Teach with Boolean Girl

Join our team as a Boolean Girl Instructor at Camps and Clubhouses

Do you want a meaningful part-time job that will have a positive impact on your community? Boolean Girl hires year-round for paid Instructors and Counselors in Training (CITs) to teach hands-on computer science classes and summer camps. Instructors must be at least 18 years old CITs are high school students that have completed the 9th grade. Eighth graders can volunteer to work as CITs to gain experience. College students are encouraged to apply. Computer Science and Engineering majors are highly desired. This is a great opportunity for future teachers, future technology professionals, aspiring STEM professionals or anyone interested in working with children while building your resume.

Our STEM camps and classes are designed to inspire and encourage girls and underrepresented youth to discover their true potential in computer science and engineering. These classes cover very basic programming skills and are designed for girls and underrepresented youth in third through eighth grade.

Classes are face-to-face in the DC metro region: Washington, DC; Arlington, Virginia; Alexandria, Virginia; and Montgomery County, Maryland. 

All course material and training for the instructor is provided.

What We Are Looking For

Instructor Requirements & Responsibilities

Basic computer skills are a must, experience/interest in working with kids is also a must. You must provide your own reliable transportation.

  • You must have some programming experience.
  • You must be 18 years old for a paid Instructor position or have finished the 9th grade to be a to Counselor-in-Training.
  • You love working with students in grades 3-8.
  • You want to have a positive impact on workplace diversity by encouraging girls and underrepresented youth to become engineers and computer scientist.
  • You like playing with technology.
  • Are smart, enthusiastic, fun-loving, reliable, punctual and know how to communicate.
