Saturday STEM Classes for Kids

Saturday mornings from 9am-12pm

We offer Fall and Winter Clubhouse sessions in Arlington, Virginia. Our Clubhouses are led by our rockstar STEM instructors, many of whom are female high school and college students. These instructors are passionate teachers and mentors for young girls and underrepresented youth. Children will receive coding and electronics instruction, get hands-on time to develop their own creative projects, and receive a lesson in "digital wellness" to promote responsible choices on computing devices.

All computer equipment is supplied by Boolean Girl. Children don't need to bring anything, except their creativity! This is a drop-off event (parents are not expected to stay for the duration, but are welcome at any time, of course). All experience levels are welcome.

The cost is $15 per session or $25 for all the clubhouses in a session. Scholarships are available for families in need. You don't need to commit to attending every Saturday. Students may start, pause and restart their participation at any time. If you are new to Boolean Girl, you can come to your first Clubhouse for free. Winter Session 1

Dates: January 24, January 31, February 7, February 14

  • Elementary school students will be coding in Scratch, creating games and completing challenges.

  • Middle school students will be learning to code in Python by completing a series of challenges using the Python coding language. 

Winter Session 2

Dates: February 21, February 28, March 7, March 14

  • Elementary school students will be working with micro:bits to code and engineer projects that require coding skills as well as learning simple electronics.

  • Middle school students will be programming micro:bit using Python to create inventions and complete challenges.
