Digital Marketing Intern

Do you want a meaningful part-time job that will have a positive impact on your community? Boolean Girl is currently hiring for a marketing intern to help with our digital efforts. The search engine marketing intern will assist in the execution of Boolean Girl's digital marketing campaigns, with a strong focus on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Digital Advertising. Applicants should be excited to learn about current and emerging digital trends, including the latest Google AdWords and Analytics best practices, in addition to social media advertising.

This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in SEO and digital marketing within a nonprofit startup, where your efforts will directly contribute to our growth and success in our mission to increase diversity in STEM careers.

This is an unpaid internship with the opportunity for a stipend for those who pass the Google Analytics Individual Qualification (IQ) Exam and/or the Google Search Ads 360 Exam during the internship.

What You Will Do

You will work with our Marketing Director on the following:

  • Build and Manage Campaigns on Google Adwords
  • Build and Manage Social Media Ads
  • Dive into Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Hubspot Analytics for insights
  • SEO Audits – For both Websites and Blogs
  • Optimize Web Content for SEO
  • Reporting

What We Are Looking For

Requirements

To be considered, applicants should have the following minimum qualifications:

  • At least one year of Marketing-focused coursework completed
  • Basic understanding of marketing concepts and principles
  • Familiarity with search engines and how they work
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Advanced computer skills and strong familiarity with the web
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Quick learner who listens and seeks education
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work
  • Ability to take and give constructive criticism
  • Positive disposition and ability to play well with others

Nice-to-Have's

Applicants with the following will receive priority:

  • Google Adwords and/or Analytics Certification, or interest in becoming certified
  • Previous experience with SEO and/or PPC
  • Working knowledge Google Drive, including Docs and Sheets
  • Previous experience working in Hubspot or other CMS and social media tools
